Dec 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dominick Cruz once again proved his worth and lived up to the meaning of his nickname “Dominator”, as he emerged victorious over challenger Scott Jorgensen in the WEC bantamweight title, with an unanimous decision of 50-45, 50-45, 50-45 on Thursday in Glendale. However, the challenge was tough as it took him five rounds to beat the challenger, in order to create a record of first-ever UFC bantamweight king.
The victory of Dominick Cruz elevated his stake, as he is now one of the top 135 pounders. Dominick Cruz, like always, formulated his masterly strategies, marked with textbook takedowns, that made his punches and kicks too sharp for Scott Jorgensen to combat. After the fight was over, the champion was full of pride and confidence. He said that once someone gets inside the cage with him, the main challenge which he has to face is his speed and movement. He has also mastered the art of mixing up combinations, that makes confronting with him all more tougher. However, he also feels that he has further scopes of improvements, as he could not get the kind of finish that he desired to, despite dominating the game all through out. The champion, who confessed to put his 110 percent into the sports and “eat, sleep and breathe MMA”, is now looking for a future in UFC, where he aims to make the same mark as a champion.
Reportedly, he is planning to clash with Urijah Faber in his UFC debut. About his opponent Scott Jorgensen, he said that he is a tough guy with a lot of power. However, he never let him find a stationary target, whenever he was trying to land a punch on him. This win was his third straight in a title fight and the eight consecutive victory of his career.
