Johannesburg, Sep 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The charismatic Indian skipper finally got his first ODI wicket after playing for 144 ODI’s in the last 5 years since his debut in the Bangladesh tour in 2004/2005.
Dhoni, who has never bowled before, bowled and struck gold in his very first over in a match against the West Indies. He claimed the wicket of Dowlin. However, late the first wicket might have come, but with this he does join the select group of bowlers who have struck a wicket in their debut over in ODIs.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni had a very ungrateful start to his ODI career as he was out for a duck on his debut. In spite of a below-average series against Bangladesh, Dhoni was again picked up for the Pakistan ODI series. In the second match of the series, Dhoni in his fifth one-day international scored an impressive 148 in Vishakhapatnam off only 123 deliveries.
M.S.Dhoni was a player for the Chennai Super Kings for 1.5 Million USD. This made him the most expensive player in the IPL for the first season Dhoni is the present captain of the Chennai Super Kings team.
He also led India to the ICC World Twenty 20 trophy in South Africa with a victory over archrivals Pakistan in an emotionally charged final on 24 September 2007
