johnaDetroit, Michigan, May 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Detroit Red Wings player Johan Franzen displayed a scintillating performance on Thursday which enabled his team to register a 7-1 win over the San Jose Sharks in the much awaited game that was held on Thursday. The center player of the Detroit Red Wings was successful in scoring four goals that allowed his team to keep at bay elimination in the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs during yesterday’s showdown against the San Jose Sharks in Detroit.

Although the Detroit Red Wings were able to emerge victorious during Thursday’s game, when the game commenced the outcome seemed quite unlikely as the San Jose Sharks were dominating the initial part of the game. The Red Wings entered yesterday’s game looking for a victory to keep up their chances in the championship and the manner in which the game unfolded highlighted that Johan Franzen had taken it upon himself to ensure that his team is able to proceed in the championship. The 30 year old center player scored a natural hat trick during the first period in the 3:26 span which was followed by a fourth goal in the third period that ensured his team’s victory against the San Jose Sharks.

The first goal of the Thursday’s game was credited to Johan Franzen initially but after a scoring change the goal went to Todd Bertuzzi. If that goal had remained with the much acclaimed Detroit Red Wings player then he would have reached the record of four goals in a period which was set way back in the year 1985 by Tim Kerr of Philadelphia. The feat had been earlier reached by Pittsburgh’s Mario Lemieux in 1989.
