Detroit, Apr 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The current draft season of the National Football League seems to be mired in mysteries and a whole lot of intentions being kept under wraps. A trend that was seen in the case of Jahvid Best and Eric Decker was seen continued in the case of Amari Spievey, the rookie from Iowa. The cornerback did not have any clue that he was going to be drafted by the Detroit Lions, just like the rest of the football fraternity. The Detroit Lions followed their policy of secrecy even in his case, not communicating with him at all till they posed the offer in front of him.

Amari Spievey was obviously elated at having been chosen by the Detroit Lions, the team that holds the fifth position on the National Football League. He admitted that the whole thing had come to him like a bolt from the blue, and that he had not been expecting it at all. The Detroit Lions called in his home in Middletown to give him the offer, and he later commented that they had not spoken to him earlier in order to ensure that nobody got a hint of their interest in him.

The excitement is no less in the part of the Detroit Lions. They seemed pretty confident of their choice, insisting that Amari Spievey would be just perfect for the position of the cornerback in their team, and would fit in perfectly with the defense. The coach of the team felt that Amari Spievey would be amazing as part of the defense, and that he had been chosen because he is known to be an extremely physical player.
