Derek Dooley Declared As University of Tennessee’s Head Coach In Press Conference

Tennessee, Jan 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The sudden decision of Lane Kiffin to end his term with the University of Tennessee for joining the USC team had dismayed many Tennessee fans and they were quite worried about the performance of the team in the coming season. Fans who were so long disappointed about the departure of Lane Kiffin, can cheer up now as Derek Dooley has been signed in as the new head coach of the team. In a press conference [that lasted around 35 minutes] Derek Dooley introduced himself as the new Tennessee coach.
Derek Dooley appreciated the records that University of Tennessee has set for themselves and indicated that he used to follow this team when he was quite young. He had made some praiseworthy coaching record with Louisiana Tech and indicated that he would like to take some constructive measures for fulfilling his new responsibility. He said that he is aware of the big responsibilities that he would have to take and so fans can be hopeful of witnessing a successful season under him. During the speech in the news conference, the confident coach said, “I can guarantee you that we are going to represent this program with integrity and class.”
Mike Hamilton, the athletic director of University of Tennessee in an interview described their experiences of searching a quick replacement of Lane Kiffin. He said that they have talked with several coaches over the last few days and found Derek Dooley to be the most intense’, ‘intelligent’ as well as ‘tenacious recruiter’. The athletic director of the team has complete faith upon his new coach and hopes that he would help the team scale new heights.
