derek2Aug 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Monday as the Arizona Cardinals meet the Tennessee Titans in the preseason game, all eyes will be fixed on quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals Matt Leinart and Vince Young of Tennessee Titans. While Matt Leinart would have to prove his position in the team as a quarterback, Vice Young’s situation is no different as his team has high hopes with the quarterback. The former on Monday would have to prove his worth not only against his opponent Vince Young, but also against his own teammate Derek Anderson to lead the team in the coming season.

Undoubtedly such a situation is bound to make the Monday night battle between the Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans interesting. While Matt Leinart has 17 starts with 29 career games and a 7-10 record to his credit, they fail to make an impression in comparison to the career record of Vince Young who is 26-13 in his career. Vice Young has a better passer rating and yard throws to his credit than Matt Leinart. At the same time, although both the players have more career interceptions than touchdowns, Vince Young has almost double the number of interceptions than Matt Leinart.

As for the in-house battle between Matt Leinart and Derek Anderson, the Monday night game in which the former is scheduled to start will play a crucial role to secure his position as a starter. If Matt Leinart plays well then he would be making in turn the position of Derek Anderson dubious in the team. The former had already shut the mouths of many critics with his performance against the Houston Texans last week.
