Coimbatore, June 11 (IANS) Delhi golfer Sidharth Seth held his nerve and picked up the Tamil Nadu Open Amateurs at the Coimbatore Golf Course here Friday evening.

Seth, who led the first round before falling back in the second, clawed back to share the lead in the third round.

Seth, who won with a final round of 77, had a total of 316, three better than second placed L Selvadurai (319) of TNGF and Praful Chand (322) of KGA, who was third on a day which was much cooler than the previous three.

On the final day, Seth opened well with a fine front nine which had two birdies and just one bogey but stuttered in the second half with six bogeys for a round of 77. He held on for the title as his closest rivals failed to close in.

The top 50 qualify for the Categorised events, the Interstate Open at Coimbatore and Southern India Amateur at KGA Bengaluru.

R Gopinath, captain of the course, gave away the prizes.
