sandersFeb 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Deion Sanders materialized the dream that he had garnered ever since he joined the NFL. In the 2011 list of Pro Football Hall Of Fame, the 43-year-old footballer was inducted as one of the seven players. His incorporation in the Pro Football Hall Of Fame was not much of a surprise, considering his consistent good performance in his 15 years of NFL career and his ever growing popularity owing to which one day or the other, he was bound to make this achievement.

The other players who have been inducted this year are Marshall Faulk, Shannon Sharpe, Richard Dent, Chris Hanburger, Les Richter and Ed Sabol. Deion Sanders was the only one out of the rest, who has witnessed the longest popularity and undaunted consistency in the field, coupled with a showmanship. However, the former player himself said that he was not at all doubtful about this new achievement as he knew that one day he would deserve it. His agent and long time friend, Eugene Parker said that all he wanted was to play for NFL. The agent further added that he wanted to make a mark in football and therefore wanted the biggest stage, where he could make the biggest impact.

Michael Irvi, the former player’s teammate for four years, said that at this point of time, there are no other players in the country who can match up to his stature. Steve Young, a Hall of Famer from San Francisco 49ers, said that Deion Sanders is one of the most deserving people to get this recognition, as it was he, who introduced the concept of shutdown corner.
