Deccan Chargers to play two matches in Cuttack

Telangana Mumbai, Feb 16 (IANS) After several rounds of talks, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has agreed to schedule two matches of the Deccan Chargers team in Cuttack.
The Hyderabad-based franchise had threatened to sue IPL after their home matches were shifted out of Andhra Pradesh to Navi Mumbai and Nagpur, due to political unrest over the Telangana issue.

But after a series of discussions, IPL has agreed to host two matches of the Chargers in Cuttack, which is in their catchment area.

“The revised IPL schedule has been worked out keeping in mind the catchment area of the Deccan Chargers franchise. The solution was worked out keeping in mind the sentiments of the cricket-loving fans of the franchise. The revised schedule now includes the Barabati Stadium at Cuttack as a host venue and I hope that Deccan Chargers fans will come out in large numbers to support their team,” IPL supremo Lalit Modi said.

March 12: Deccan Chargers vs. Kolkata Knight Riders (Navi Mumbai, D.Y. Patil)

March 19: Deccan Chargers vs. Kings XI Punjab (Cuttack)

March 21: Deccan Chargers vs. Delhi Daredevils (Cuttack)

March 28: Deccan Chargers vs. Mumbai Indian (D.Y. Patil)

April 5: Deccan Chargers vs. Rajasthan Royals (Nagpur)

April 10: Deccan Chargers vs. Chennai Super Kings (Nagpur)

April 12: Deccan Chargers vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore (Nagpur)
