Hyderabad, Apr 14 (ANI): The series of defeats is not taking a full stop for the Deccan Chargers, as the team looks ahead for its third game in the ongoing Indian Premiere League (IPL).
This was the contention of Darren Lehman, coach of the team as the players geared up to take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore when he interacted with the mediapersons at Hyderabad on Wednesday.
The Deccan Chargers would be playing against Royal Challengers on Thursday.
Lehman said the game of cricket depends on a good game and a bad game as such if one loses it means that the team has not done well and it is nothing to do with the jinx.
On this score, he noted that this time his players are all geared up to give the home spectators a terrific match with a win.
“No, you lose you lose the game there is nothing to do with the jinx. It is the case of not playing well now. So, for us, we are home we going to make that result coming our way soon and I think they also want us to win the game soon so, we will play well, we will get back in form,” said Lehman.
A day prior to the game Lehman also inspected the pitch and noted the pitch looks good giving both the bowler and the batsman a fair chance to play.
“The pitch is goody; obviously it played really well in other games in the series. It was probably 138, probably we are still to get 155-160. so, the wicket is good has good bounce , good carry, it is good for bat, if you go getting, it has some spin so probably the better wickets in the IPL all right,” added Lehman.
Deccan Chargers have consecutively lost games against Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing IPL tourney.
On its part, the Bangalore based Royal Challengers finished runners-up in the second season after suffering a six-run loss to the Chargers in the final.
The revenge was extracted when the Bangalore team went on to beat the Chargers to secure the third-place in the third edition.
Deccan Chargers in the fourth edition is led by wicket-keeper Kumar Sangakkara whereas Royal Challengers Bangalore is led by Daniel Vettori. (ANI)
