Kochi, Apr 27 (ANI): Deccan Chargers is all geared up to give a tough match to Kochi Tuskers in the ensuing match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to be played at Kochi, the port city of Kerala.
A day prior to the match, Deccan Chargers skipper Kumar Sangakkara said the Kochi Tuskers is in good form despite having a sloppy start.
He said they would try not committing the same mistake that cost them a game against Mumbai Indians and would improve whatever they have achieved.
“The Kochi Tuskers are a good team they have done pretty well, they have just come-up with the bad game against Rajasthan. So, we know what they can do but ours is about us, doing what we know what we can do to best of our abilities tomorrow,” said Kumar Sangakkara.
Further he expressed that by creating window for IPL in International Cricket Council’s (ICC) future tours programme (FTP) would put an end to the conflict.
He said whether it is important for players to play for the country or stick to their commitments with their respective clubs would remain a debatable issue.
“For us in Sri Lanka it is always a case of playing as well as we can for the country and also do our best to honour our contracts and words with the IPL. I for one don’t think that players should be put in a position where they have to choose one or the other.
“There is enough time for the both and players want to play proper cricket first for their countries and also if they do get an opportunity in the IPL here as well. So, it will always going to be a matter of debate but I am pretty sure that everyone in ICC and the IPL will come to an agreement sooner or later for a specific window where the IPL can be played fully,” added Sangakkara.
Recently, Sri Lankan Cricket Board had asked their players to return, so that they can prepare for the ensuing tour of England. (ANI)
