Deadlock continues in Bhaichung-Mohun Bagan saga
September 17th, 2009 - 10:17 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 17 (IANS) All India Football Federation (AIFF)-appointed arbitrator Amarendra Sharan, even after the third round of meeting here Thursday, failed to resolve the differences between national captain Bhaichung Bhutia and Mohun Bagan.
Sharan said the fourth round of hearing would be held Saturday.
“The next round of hearing is on Saturday. Only then I can come to a conclusion,” Sharan, a former additional solicitor general, told IANS.
The arbitration process started here Thursday after Sharan failed to convince Mohun Bagan and Bhutia for an amicable settlement.
Sharan had a three-hour meeting with both the parties that ended late Wednesday night, but without any conclusion.
The Kolkata club has suspended Bhutia for six months for missing an exhibition match and some of the team’s practice sessions last season. Bhaichung appealed to the AIFF against the ban and federation president Praful Patel appointed Sharan to solve the issue.
