De Gea to sign 17.8 million dollar Man U contract
April 14th, 2011 - 4:41 pm ICT by ANILondon, Apr 14 (ANI): Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David de Gea will sign a five year contract with Manchester United as the club agreed 17.8 million dollars deal.
Earlier, Atletico Madrid chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin claimed that both Manchester United and Chelsea have made offers for the young keeper.
“We’ve received offers from both United and Chelsea, while he also has an offer from us to renew his deal.’” The Daily Mail quoted Marin, as saying.
“We’d like him to stay here, but David’s future is entirely in his own hands,” he added.
Since Gea has now accepted the contract, United are aware that paying so much for such a young player like Gea is a huge gamble but they are convinced by the star’s quality and have chosen him ahead of Schalke’s Manuel Neuer, Inter Milan’s Julio Cesar and Ajax’s Maarten Stekelenburg. (ANI)
