New Delhi, Dec 27 (IANS) After the fifth ODI between India and Sri Lanka was called off due to unplayable pitch at the Ferozeshah Kotla Sunday, the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) pledged a refund of tickets to all spectators.
“DDCA regrets the inconvenience caused to all spectators. We offer our apologies to them. All gate tickets will be refunded. A detailed announcement in this regard will be made shortly. DDCA takes this matter very seriously,” DDCA president Arun Jaitley said in a statement.

“We will look into this matter and do all that is required to ensure that such a situation does not re-occur,” he added.

It was the second time since 1997 that a cricket match in India, incidentally also featuring the same two countries, was spiked due to very same reasons — then at Indore.

India have already clinched the current series 3-1 after winning the fourth ODI at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
