Davis Cup: Paes-Bhupathi keep Indian hopes alive

Chennai, Sep 18 (IANS) Experienced doubles pair Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi kept Indian hopes alive in the Davis Cup World Group play-off tennis tie against Brazil with a 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-1 win over Marcelo Mello and Bruno Soares here Saturday.
India had lost both their singles matches Friday and needed to win the doubles to keep themselves afloat.
In the reverse singles Sunday, Somdev Devvarman will take on Thomaz Bellucci while Rohan Bopanna plays Mello.
