10wright1600On August 15th David Wright, the New York Met’s 3rd baseman suffered a crushing blow on his helmet in Citi Field when a 94 mph fastball threw him down. The hit came from San Francisco’s Giants starter Matt Cain. It has caused him a concussion.

Amid Huge police escort an ambulance sped off with Wright to the hospital.

Wright sincerely believes there was a motive to hurt. Even Bob Watson Vice-President (filed operations) for Major League Baseball supported Wright’s suspicion of the hit being an intentional one. It was a monstrous hit which knocked Wright onto the ground where he writhed in pain for atleast 2 minutes before pulling up to walk off-field bravely unaided. The Mets have revealed absolutely nothing to sources about when Wright might come back to action. He was the last star-standing for the New York Mets.

The player was giving good performance dressed in grey shirt and a pair of black shorts. He was hastily driven to Hospital Of Surgery and diagnosed with a concussion which checked out negative on the CT-Scan.

At a time when his teammates had caused commotion on-field Wright had reportedly said, “I always try to maintain some restraint.” “It was tough this time . I never thought there was malicious intent other times”, referring to initial Met’s reliever Nelson Figueroa causing some injuries to players Ryan Ludwick and Albert Pujols. The player is known for his work ethic. He has always prevented himself from being a part of any controversy. In Metclubhouse, nobody doubts that Wright was purposely targeted. Fernando Tati’s came onto action as an alternative player as pinch runner after Wright.
