New Delhi , June 19 (ANI): Minister of Information and Broadcasting P. R. Dasmunsi on Thursday mourned the death of well-known Bangla journalist Barun Sengupta.
In his condolence message he said: I am deeply shocked to hear the sudden demise of veteran Bangla journalist Shri Barun Sengupta. In his death, he has left behind a huge devoid in the journalistic arena in general and in Bangla journalism in particular.
He further added that Sengupta will be remembered for his straightforwardness and fearless reporting spanning across more than 50 years of journalism which began way back in 1957.
Dasmunsi said he will be remembered as the founder editor of popular Bengali daily Bartaman Patrika which was started by him in 1984. Since then, this Bangla paper continued to grow under his editorship.
It is to his credit that this paper is now being published from three places in West Bengal Kolkata, Siliguri and Burdwan. He continued to write for it till he fell ill a few days back. (ANI)
