Daredevils looking for back-to-back win: Shipperd

New Delhi, April 25 (IANS) Delhi Daredevils will look for a back-to-back win at home when they meet Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Ferozeshah Kotla here Tuesday.
Daredevils, who look a pale shadow of themselves this season after the fresh players’ auctions, are struggling at the second last position with four points from two wins and three losses in five matches.
They defeated Kings XI Punjab by 29 runs and coach Greg Shipperd hoped the team will carry on in the same vein.
“We hope to take the momentum to tomorrow’s game and secure back-to-back wins,” Shipperd said on the eve of the match.
Shipperd hoped their fiery openers, captain Virender Sehwag and David Warner, could once again give them a blazing start.
“Every side relies on its top order as they are the ones who play the maximum overs and get to bat in the Powerplay. When big names do well, things are bound to go well,” Shipperd said.
As many as four of Daredevils star players - Daniel Vettori, Tillakaratne Dilshan, AB de Villiers and Dirk Nannes - are playing for RCB this year and Shipperd said they are trying to do the best with their present lot.
“Half of the RCB side played for Delhi in the first three seasons. It’s like old Delhi playing against new Delhi. They were our valued players and we tried to keep them in the auction but couldn’t afford them,” Shipperd said.
“But we have embraced our new people.”
