New York, June 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dante Bichette Jr. has been selected among the list of the Major League Baseball Draft for 2011. Bichette is the son of the legendary baseball star Dante Sr. who is regarded as one of the nest players of the game.

He led the Orangewood Christian to the 2A state semifinals in the previous season. Though he is not ranked in the top 100 players of the MLB, Bichette is recognized for having an “impact bat” which is seen as essential for any team that he will play for. The Yankees believe that he is ready to go professional in his career.

Montverde Academy’s Francisco Lindor is also among those who have been selected for the draft. The 17-year-old is one of the top college baseball players in the United States. During the just ended season Lindor batted .528 with 6 HRs, 7 doubles and 2 triples.

Selecting another high school player means this is the fourth straight season that the Yankees have done that. Though it is believed that Bichette will attend University of Georgia, the Yankees believe that the principle of “catch them young” is very much very vital for the team.
