Danica Patrick Is Going To Make NASCAR Debut

carFeb 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Danica Patrick, the Indycar driver is on her way of making Nascar debut on Saturday at Daytona International Speedway. Danica Patrick is for the first time going to drive in Nascar’s second-tier Nationwide Series after she finished 6th in her stock-car debut in a regional race for Nascar-type cars at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday. She is also the the only woman to win an Indycar race.

The former Formula 1 driver Nelson Piquet Jr bumped Danica Patrick on lap 54 in the last race, the car jerked a little bit but fortunately she did not hit anything on the way and made a comeback in the race. She later said, “I thought: ”Shoot, we’re not out of it.” She added, she was very excited “to go from last.” She said the 8-lap race on the high-banked speedway was fun. Danica Patrick said that she wants to run a partial Nationwide schedule in 2010. She added, racing in the Nationwide Series race was her goal during the 2-month preparation process. She said “The ARCA race was a blast.” Kelley Earnhardt, the team manager said Dancia Patrick has proved that she can compete in stock cars at a high level.

Danica Patrick was Born in Beloit, Wisconsin. She grew up in Roscoe, Illinois. She started go-karting in 1992 when she was 10 at the Sugar River Raceway in Brodhead, Wisconsin. She won several World Karting Association championships. She then moved to England when she was 16 for her racing career. In the earlier years she raced in Formula Ford and Formula Vauxhall, and earned a second-place in Britain’s Formula Ford Festival.
