danNashville, Apr 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dan Henderson, the two time Olympian, was held back by Jake Shields in the Saturday game when he walked away with the Middleweight title at the end of the championship. Dan Henderson played wonderfully in the first round of the match but unfortunately could not survive the power of champion Jake Shields.

Dan Henderson’s last major fight was against Michael Bisping in the month of July which he won with only the power of a single punch. However the same power failed to show itself yesterday in his fight with Jake Shields. It was as if the game was over in the first five minutes itself. It was only during the first 30 seconds that the audience got to see the previous Dan Henderson when he had Jake Shields totally under his control. In this brief span of 30 seconds Dan Henderson showed what he was worth when he knocked Jake Shields to the ground with one hard punch and had him struggling to survive the hard blow.

Unfortunately right from the second round it was a role reversal of sorts when Dan Henderson stayed put on the receiving end. It was Jake Shields’ turn this time to knock Dan Henderson to the ground and keep him landed there for almost the rest of the match delivering a shower of heavy blows on the former Olympian.

Dan Henderson is usually considered a tough player. Even in yesterday’s knockout, Dan Henderson was placed at a higher position when compared to champion Jake Shields. Even then it was Jake Shields who took over the game from the hands of Dan Henderson going on to win it.
