Dan Hawkins Fired From Colorado Buffaloes?

danNov 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The media outlets are presently abuzz that Colorado Buffaloes football coach Dan Hawkins has stepped down from his post and Brian Cabral is expected to replace him from Tuesday at a news conference. A source close to the team said that Dan Hawkins would meet his team before the news conference and then he would bid adieu to the team. However, the team officials have not confirmed anything and called the news as “rumor mill”.

A reputed media source reported that assistant coaches of the team remained at work on Monday night for their Saturday’s game plan and Dan Hawkins was not present there. Former University of Colorado coach Bill McCartney reportedly said on Monday night that his heart “hurts” for coach Dan Hawkins and his family. He also added that Dan Hawkins did his best and in his difficult time everybody wishes him a good luck. When asked if he would like to return to his job, Bill McCartney said that if Colorado Buffaloes is interested in him, then he would also be interested in returning.

Last Saturday Colorado Buffaloes lost their game against Kansas and Dan Hawkins had to bear the brunt of all the angers and face criticisms for the poor performance of the team. The football coach finishes his 19-39 at Colorado and he failed to witness a winning season in five years of his career in the team. However, Bruce Benson, University of Colorado president called the whole news as a “rumor mill”. Though Dan Hawkins spoke on the Big 12 coaches yesterday morning but he did not mention anything about the issue. When asked about his present job, the head coach said that life makes no “promises” as it is an “adventure” and hence the nature of his job is also same as life.
