joseApr 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) This was a game that Dan Boyle, the defenceman of the San Jose Sharks would not be able to forget in a long time to come. The San Jose Sharks player scored the winning goal on Sunday in the showdown against the Colorado Avalanche but unfortunately he scored the goal in his team’s own net. What could have tilted the game in favor of his team turned out quite contrary, owing to the fact that the San Jose defenceman put the puck in his own net. The humiliating defeat in the hands of the Colorado Avalanche was all the more frustrating for Dan Boyle’s team as with the victory, Colorado Avalanche managed to take lead in the series by 2-1.

Despite the fact that the Colorado Avalanche were able to emerge victorious in Sunday’s game, earlier on the San Jose Sharks played an offensively dominating game and were able to overshoot their opponents by 57-17. However, Colorado Avalanche’s Craig Anderson also contributed significantly in taking his team forward and enabling the team to register a 1-0 win against the opponents.

While reacting to the rather freak overtime goal rendered by him that resulted in the opponent team’s victory, Dan Boyle later told reporters that the way the game ended was pretty much the worst thing that could have happened to his team. At the same time, the San Jose Sharks defenceman added that he needed to be strong and wanted to overcame the debacle that his team had to suffer. However, the bizarre overtime goal by Dan Boyle must have been really shocking for his teammates as well as the fans.
