reemaSep 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dallas Cowboys’ receiver Patrick Crayton on Friday was ultimately traded to the San Diego Chargers in return of a seventh round draft pick. The veteran receiver who had made his intentions for a trade apparent by remaining absent from much of the off-season voluntary workout sessions of the team, will now fill up a vacant receiver position in the San Diego Chargers team created by unsigned Pro Bowler Vincent Jackson. The Dallas Cowboys also traded offensive lineman Pat McQuistan to Miami Hurricanes. The trade that was being long anticipated has however been criticized by many sports analysts who have voiced that the team compromised with the depth in the key receiver area for gaining the advantage of around $2 million in salary.

Reports claim that Patrick Crayton was asking for a trade after the Dallas Cowboys acquired the first round draft pick, receiver Dez Bryant during the April’s NFL draft pick. There is no doubt about the fact that in a team which consists of players like Roy Williams, Miles Austin and Dez Bryant, Patrick Crayton had very little opportunity to explore his talent, however, in the San Diego Chargers, the veteran receiver will be holding an important position and add to the depth of the team’s receiver area.

On the part of the Dallas Cowboys, who at present have an impressive depth area in the receiver area, the trade was done after taking into consideration many factors. The executive vice president of the Dallas Cowboys, Stephen Jones said to media sources that whenever such a decision is taken, “everything” is taken into consideration starting from economics to the player’s position in the team.
