Cyclist Brice Feillu Wins The Tour de France 2009, Stage 7

clipboard011 One of the major sports event around the world that is gaining a quite of media attention, is The Tour De France, 2009. Already 6 stages have finished, thus declaring its winner and according to the recent update the stage 7 has already been over, where Brice Feillu of the team Agritubel has come up as the winner. This win is no ordinary stage win as Brice, who has already caught a lot of attention through his mind boggling cycling skills. It has been reported that his last 5K breakaway from the summit has been spectacular making him the champion of the day.

The Stage 7 of the Tour De France is considered to be one of the most challenging part of the tour as the riders had to travel through a a mountainous course with a string of harsh climbs and falls. On Friday, the riders had to cycle from Barcelona to Arcalis. Brice Feillu of Agritubel, took 6 hours 11 minutes and 31 seconds to finish the stage 7 and within this time he covered a distance of 224 km. Another rider from the team Cofidis, Christopher Kern was just behind him who finished the race with just 5 seconds behind that of Feillu.

Lance Armstrong, another star attraction of this year’s race, was unable hold the overall lead, as the cyclist finished in position 15. The yellow jersey was taken over by Rinaldo Nocentini of Italy who was ahead of the Spaniard Alberto Contador by six seconds.

The 24 year old French Cyclist had earlier made a mark by winning the Stage 1 of the race this year. Till date, his victory in the stage 7 of the Tour de France is counted as his biggest achievement.
