CWG medal winners to get travel complimentary passes
October 6th, 2010 - 1:31 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Oct 6 (ANI): Minister of State for Tourism, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Kumari Selja, has announced that Commonwealth Games medal winners for India will be given complimentary free travel passes for luxury trains that visit tourist attractions across the country.
Kumari Selja said the winners would also be felicitated at a special function in Delhi after the sporting extravaganza ends.
“The players can avail these all inclusive trips ranging from seven to eight nights on any of the luxury trains including the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, Golden Chariot, Deccan Odyssey and Maharaja Express according to the category of medals won,” Kumari Selja said.
“Each of the medal winners along with one companion will be given the complimentary passes under this incentive scheme ranging from 1.20 lakh rupees to 3.20 lakh per person. In case of team events, each member along with their coach will be given the complimentary tickets,” she added. (ANI)
