Curtis GrandersonIndianapolis, Dec. 09, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The speculation in the baseball scenario is that Curtis Granderson is about to go over to the Yankees, as part of a three way deal that will include the Yankees, the Red Sox and the Diamondbacks. He is obviously the centerpiece in the deal, considering that he is one of the most prized players in any team he joins. The center fielder has been traded to the Yankees by his former team, Detroit, in exchange for Austin Jackson, the prospective center fielder, lefty starter Ian Kennedy, and left-handed reliever Phil Coke.

It is being considered that the Yankees have emerged the clear winners in this deal, obviously because they have been able to secure Curtis Granderson. Already one of the best teams, this deal is sure to strengthen them even more, considering that they have got a terrific center fielder in the place of Melky Cabrera, and also a great fielder.

The Red Sox too had expressed an interest in obtaining Curtis Granderson, but the Tigers had wanted to get Clay Buchholz and Jacoby Ellsbury. To part with both of the most talented players of the team would have been too high a price to pay for the deal, according to a league source. Rays manger Joe Maddon felt that the inclusion of Curtis Granderson in the Yankees team would only go on to make the team even better, admitting that he is an energetic player, one that can easily fit into the scenario of New York. The Rays had lost against the Yankees last season, and there seem to be chances of a repeat with the inclusion of even more powerful players in the normally good team.
