Shah Rukh Khan Kolkata, April 17 (IANS) Two consecutive wins of the Kolkata Knight Riders brought back the cricket-loving crowd to the Eden Gardens Sunday, making for an electrifying atmosphere at the historic ground.

The crowd was not only greater in numbers, it also seemed in high spirits as the Knights took on Rajasthan Royals in a high-voltage match.

The spectators danced and sang the official song of KKR as wickets of the Rajasthan Royals fell early. The KKR owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan waved and danced as the home side’s bowlers took the initiative against the Rajasthan batsmen.

Four-fifths of the ground was filled, and the crowd waved, cheered and whistled as KKR pacer Lakshmipathy Balaji delivered the first blow with a short and slow delivery that snared Shane Watson just for 11.

The star of the previous match at Eden Gardens, spinner Iqbal Abdulla, gave a jolt to the Rajasthan Royals by picking up AG Paunikar with a beautiful delivery, while Faiz Fazal was magnificently run out.

The crowd formed a Mexican wave in in the lower stands. Most of the lower and upper stands were filled up to brim, with only a few of the chairs in the upper stands lying vacant.
