London, July 1 (IANS) Cristiano Ronaldo Wednesday admitted that he flew into a rage and kicked a car’s window when a teenage girl tried to film him in the street. The ace footballer says he regrets his behaviour, but can’t promise that he won’t “react in the same way again in the same circumstances”.
Thesun.co.uk reports that Ronaldo said he lashed out after the 17-year-old girl allegedly followed him and his mother in Lisbon, Portugal Sunday.

Reports suggest the girl was a fan of the Real Madrid player, but Ronaldo claims she was travelling with a paparazzi photographer who was following him and his mum Dolores. He lost his temper when he spotted the girl continually filming him while he was holidaying in Portugal’s capital.

Ronaldo - who signed for Real Madrid from Manchester United for a staggering 80 million pounds - booted the windows of the car.

But he apologised for Sunday’s incident, but added: “I cannot swear that if the same circumstances were repeated I would not react in the same way.”

The 24-year-old said he snapped after the photographer followed him and his mum.

“I was accompanied by my mother, and he by a young woman who throughout our whole journey ostensibly and provocatively filmed all our movements. This persecution caused my mother to be so disturbed and upset that I had to stop my car to try to convince them to leave us in peace.

“I try to swallow it and remain indifferent. But when my mother is involved, then I’m sorry but I don’t let anyone, I repeat anyone, harass her. I regret what I did, but I can’t promise that I would not react in the same way again in the same circumstances,” said Ronaldo.
