Crista Taylor is pregnantMay 27th, 2009 - 7:57 pm ICT by GD
Crista Taylor, the 37 year old woman arrested at the house of Dirk Nowitzki, the star player of Dallas Mavericks, has confessed that she is pregnant. At present she is housed in the Jefferson County Jail and it is from there that she spoke of her pregnancy over a telephonic interview with the newspaper Dallas Morning. The newspaper was not only given the news of pregnancy, but also given access to the pregnancy tests and reports. Crista said that the father is Nowitzki. Crista was given the pregnancy test by the Jail hospital.
The pregnancy test does not confirm paternity so that Crista’s claim that Dirk Nowitzki is the father remains to be verified. Crista was arrested following a charge of “theft of services” against her. She had allegedly received the services of a dentist in 2004 but did not pay him. She also has another separate charge against her and that is of probation violation.
Though the pregnancy has been confirmed by tests only now, a woman who claimed herself to be Crista’s friend had been telling the media and all who cared to listen that Crista was pregnant. This fact puts to question Crista’s statement that she has learned of her pregnancy only in jail.
No comments were available either from Dirk’s attorney or from the Dallas Mavericks spokespersons as yet, but Nowitzki’s lawyer, Robert Hart has reportedly said that, “If in the remote instance there is any validity to this woman’s claim of pregnancy, Dirk will do whatever can be done to ensure the well being of the child.” This statement was released by Hart to ESPN.
