Cricket South Africa has approached me for coach job: Gary Kirsten
April 3rd, 2011 - 9:44 pm ICT by ANIMumbai, Apr 3(ANI): Departing India coach Gary Kirsten has said that he has been approached over the vacant South Africa job.
According to the BBC, Kirsten, who led India to World Cup success on Saturday, has asked for time to take stock and consider the offer.
“They have approached me, but I’ve said I’m not going to make any decisions just yet,” Kirsten said.
“I need to take some time off and clear my mind for a while after this magnificent journey,” he added.
Cricket South Africa are expected to name a replacement for interim coach Corrie van Zyl in June.
The 43-year-old had taken the India job in March 2008. (ANI)
