Foot overbridge caves in near Nehru Stadium, 23 hurt (Second Lead)
New Delhi, Sep 21 (IANS) In another blow to India’s Commonwealth Games (CWG) preparations, a foot overbridge being constructed near the main venue Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium collapsed Tuesday injuring 23 labourers, five of them seriously.

PMO steps in, asks Lt. Governor for CWG Village cleanup (Lead)

CGF ’shocked’ by Games Village; seeks Indian government intervention (Lead)
New Delhi/Auckland, Sep 21 (IANS) With just two days to go for the athletes to arrive for the Commonwealth Games in the Indian capital, the Organising Committee finds itself in fresh trouble as Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) president Michael Fennell said parts of the Village are still not fit for accommodation.

Minor hiccups, Games will be very successful: Jaipal Reddy
New Delhi, Sep 21 (IANS) Urban Development Minister S. Jaipal Reddy Tuesday brushed aside concerns over preparedness for the Oct 3-14 Commonwealth Games, saying they were “minor hiccups” and the Games would be “very successful”.

No point in sending athletes for Commonwealth Games: New Zealand PM
Auckland, Sep 21 (IANS) New Zealand Prime Minister John Key said Tuesday that there was no point in sending the athletes to the Commonwealth Games in Delhi if they faced health and sanitation issues in the Games Village, which was described as “filthy” by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF).

Warm up pool at Swimming Complex waits for equipment
