Pasadena, California, Jan 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The college football season culminated with the Bowl Championship Series game of last night. This year, Alabama and Texas had qualified for the bowl championship game and it appeared that both the teams wanted to dominate the game from the initial stages. Colt McCoy, the quarterback of Texas Longhorns, who wanted to turn the game in his team’s favor received injury in the first drive and could not contribute much for his team in such a crucial game.
Colt McCoy’s injury during the game was a great setback for the team and disappointed the fans who were there to support their team. Everyone present in the arena was quite anxious to know about the condition of their favorite player but the team officials did not declare the severity of his injury. It has been reported that he was transported to hospital for immediate treatment. Colt McCoy was unable to play for the latter half of the match.
According to some sources, Colt McCoy insisted to play the game in spite of his injury. However, doctors did not allow him play with the sustained shoulder injury that already had cramped the player. Colt McCoy’s departure from the field had shaken the offense lineup of the team and it appeared that they could not take the complete control of the game even though they tried. It has been reported that the Alabama Crimson Tide had taken the maximum advantage of Colt McCoy’s absence and made it difficult for the Texas to score points. Alabama eventually went on to win the game with a score of 37-21.
