Nov 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In some rare occasions, victory can be gained by putting the least possible efforts and the worst performance. That is what was proved in the Nevada Wolf Pack Vs Boise State Broncos match, that took place yesterday. Although Nevada won with a 34-31 overtime victory, Quarter back Colin Kaepernick’s performance was not at its best.
Colin Kaepernick threw for 259 yards, one touchdown, and one interception only. He added 45 yards rushing and added another score. This was the lowest offensive output for the player in the last three games, but that was what the team exactly needed to emerge victorious. He said that he was on a knee on the sideline, praying and hoping to get another shot. Nevada coach Chris Ault appreciated the remarkable improvement in the quality of his passes, which is way better than that of last year. Last year, his passer efficiency rating was 139.14, while this year, it has increased to 158.51, which ranks him 15th in the country. The player also revealed that his football career with Nevada would be incomplete without the WAC title and it would be worse if he cannot win against Boise State. However, he need not take that tension any more.
Colin Kaepernick needed only 16 yards to be the first Football Bowl Subdivision quarterback who passed for more than 2,000 yards and rushed more than 1,000 in three back to back seasons. He achieved it in the third quarter, when he went for a 18-yard touch down run. His parents, who were also present in the field to witness their son creating history, were extremely proud for his performance and rushed to the field to congratulate him.
