Cole hopes Chelsea will become as great as Arsenal

London, Nov. 29 (ANI): Ashley Cole will never forget his time as one of the “Invincibles” (Arsenal), and now, he is one of the “Indestructibles” (Chelsea).
Cole is convinced Chelsea have the will and backbone to become as great a side as that Arsenal vintage and reckons it is that ability to bounce back from adversity that marks this Chelsea team out as potential history-makers.
There is little doubt that the team coach Italian Carlo Ancelotti has brought a level-headed pragmatism that has been well-received by a set of players who have seen more than their fair share of managers.
“The manager actually wasn’t too bad after that Wigan game. But that’s because he’s quite calm. He’s relaxed around the training ground. He lets you be normal - he lets you be a person. Of course, it’s our job. But it’s important to relax. He treats you like a human,” News of The world quoted Cole, as saying.
“All the guys love him. What he’s achieved as a manager and as a player makes you want to achieve for him,” he added.
And what Cole would like to achieve is a third Premier League winners’ medal.
He says: “I won two titles with Arsenal but I haven’t won one with Chelsea yet. That’s a gap I want to fill.”
Ancelotti has tried to play down the significance of the African Nations Cup, even suggesting he will not need to strengthen the squad in the January transfer window.
Cole agrees that Chelsea’s pool of talent is deeper than some pundits claim but he also knows that the absence - for at least a month - of key players will be tough to deal with.
“For me, this season’s Premier League is the best and toughest I’ve played in,” Cole said. (ANI)
