CoCom briefed on important functional areas of Games
December 15th, 2009 - 10:22 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Dec 15 (IANS) The Commonwealth Games Federation’s Coordination Commission (CoCom) reviewed the progress of work of important functional areas Tuesday while assessing the preparedness of the Organising Committee (OC) for the 2010 mega event.
“The CoCom reviewed the financial status, cash flow linked to major procurement, delivery requirements, procurement schedules and arrangements,” the Organising Committee said in a statement.
“It also reviewed presentations on functional areas like transport, security, overlays, sport (competition and operations), testing and readiness etc.”
Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi, vice-chairman Randhir Singh, secretary-general Lalit Bhanot and other members were present during the review meetings.
On the third and final day Wednesday, the CoCom will be briefed on more functional areas, including technology and ticketing.
The seven-member team, led by Austin Sealy, will also meet stakeholders like the sports ministry and representatives from the National Capital Region.
CoCom will present its report to the Commonwealth Games Federation president Michael Fennell.
