Aug 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Cleveland Indians manager Manny Acta has come out clear with the intentions of the team. On Sunday the manager discussed in front of the media sources the possible callups from the minor league for this season. Manny Acta made it clear that the team would not be going for a wholesale callups this September which means that many minor leagues players might miss the chance to become a part of the Major league this season.
Manny Acta maintained that the Cleveland Indians team officials have already begun discussion on which player should be called up from the minor league. The manager maintained that this time the team will not be adding a whole lot of players fearing a later crisis. He added jocularly, “We’re not going to bring guys up just to have them on the bench in case a fight breaks out”. He maintained that the team will like to add three relief pitchers and a few more position players. Manny Acta maintained that the Cleveland Indians will be bringing up Carlos Carrasco this season. Carlos Carrasco who had come up with a poor performance under the Cleveland Indians last year September flourished under Columbus Clippers and the team now seems to be gaining confidence on the player. He went for 10-5 with a 3.71 ERA under the Columbus Clippers.
Apart from the infusion of some new blood in the team, Manny Acta also talked about adding some depth to the team by recalling veteran players. The manager maintained that the Cleveland Indians will be bringing up Carlos Carrasco this season. Outfielder Jordan Brown would most likely be recalled by the team.
