Cleveland Indians’ David Huff Hit In Head During Saturday Game

clevelandNew York, May 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Saturday baseball game between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians took a bad turn when David Huff, the pitcher of the Cleveland Indians team suffered a head injury when hit by the line drive off the bat of Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees. The player stretched out on the mound and was seen writhing in pain for around six minutes before he was taken out of the field in a cart. David Huff was taken to the New York-Presbyterian Hospital and a CT scan was done which yielded negative result. Reports claim that David Huff did not lose his consciousness and also did not suffer any memory loss. However, the hospital reportedly asked the player to remain in the hospital as a precaution.

The accident occurred when the ball hit by Alex Rodriguez bounced hitting the head of David Huff towards the right field for an RBI double. However, David Huff went to the second base and then straight to toward the mound. The ball hit the player so hard that players of both the ends on field were shocked and rushed towards David Huff who stretched on the ground holding his helmet. Trainers of both the teams came to help the David Huff. Before leaving the field after few minutes, David Huff signaled a “thumbs up” to fans who cheered back.

As for the game, it resumed again after David Huff was moved out of the field. The Cleveland Indians who had suffered a 10-4 loss to CC Sabathia in the sixth inning, went on to win on Saturday over the New York Yankees. They Cleveland Indians won over the New York Yankees by 13-11.
