Oct 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Yesterday was the much anticipated match between Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics and the former thrashed the latter in their season opener. However, there was an atmosphere of tension among the Cleveland Cavaliers fans as the team was playing without their most prominent star, LeBron James. In the pre-match interview Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert spoke about his team, games and also about LeBron James, where he mentioned that he will not take back one word about LeBron James as he feels he said the right thing about the player who has left the team for Miami Heat.
Dan Gilbert previously called LeBron James as “narcissistic” and also accused him of his “cowardly behavior” for leaving the team. When asked about the letter, Dan Gilbert said that he does not regret about the letter as the letter was for the fans and supporters of Cleveland Cavaliers and not for the player who “left”. He said that he did not address the letter to the rest of the world as well. Dan Gilbert also added that he wanted to say this to the fans of Cleveland Cavaliers to share how he felt and his entire organization felt when LeBron James left the team. He said that the letter was his personal judgment and he made his decision of writing the letter by himself.
Dan Gilbert seemed optimistic when he spoke about his team. In his interview he said that Cleveland Cavaliers will deliver their smart “efficiency” and see what happens next. Dan Gilbert was accused of giving preferential treatment to LeBron James previously, however, yesterday, the Cleveland Cavaliers owner denied all the misconceptions saying that the news is not true. However, Dan Gilbert said that LeBron James never asked for any huge material things.
