dannyCleveland, June 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Danny Ferry the long-time General Manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers team resigned from his post on Friday.

The news comes just two weeks after the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers Dan Gilbert fired the coach of the team Mike Brown. As per the reports the decision to resign from his position was taken by Danny Ferry after talks with Dan Gilbert made him feel that both share different opinions on the matter of the team’s progress.

However, the resignation of Danny Ferry has come as a surprise to the team. He has been the General Manager of the team for the last five years.

As per the reports, Danny Ferry has told to media sources that it was the right time for him to move on. He reportedly did not agree with the decision taken by Dan Gilbert to fire Mike Brown after the second-round loss of the team to the Boston Celtics.

He also had disagreements on the issue of re-signing LeBron James who is to become a free agent from the next month. Many media sources have speculated that the decision of Danny Ferry was taken as the latter felt that his authority as the General Manager of the team was being diminished by Dan Gilbert, the owner of the team.

Danny Ferry however was in the last month of his contract with the team. The position of the General Manager of Cleveland Cavaliers will be now held by the Assistant General Manager Chris Grant.

As of yet, the Cleveland Cavalier’s team management has not commented over the resignation.
