Cleveland, Dec 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Miami Heat played the Cleveland Cavaliers in the away game that was set to go down in NBA history irrespective of the final scores. With LeBron James returning to the city where he was turned into a villain overnight, fans were anticipating not just a stellar game on court but also some interesting off court and crowd drama.
While the authorities were aware of the hostility that LeBron James could be facing, some of the offensive T-shirts and signs managed to make their way past the security people and were quite a spectacle in themselves. One T-Shirt had the face of LeBron James with the Lion King background and reading ‘Lyin King’. Another sign called him a ‘traitor’. At the same time, eight fans stood side by side and the letters in their T-Shirts spelt ‘BETRAYED’. The message from the fans was clear but LeBron James managed to smile through it all. There were boos every time he touched the ball and fans also started chanting profanities against the NBA star.
LeBron James, however, managed to silence the crowds with his performance and scored an almost match-winning 24 points in the third quarter. The quarter served as a clincher for the Miami Heat as Cleveland Cavaliers were almost ruled out of the game after conceding a 19 point lead at the end of the first half. During half-time LeBron James said that he still had a lot of love for the fans in Cleveland, but going by the mood in the crowd, the feeling seemed to be one-sided. Miami Heat won the game 118-90 with LeBron James scoring the game-high 38 points.
