cavaWashington, Feb 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Much acclaimed NBA player Antawn Jamison has been traded to Cleveland Cavaliers in a three team contract that was finalized on Wednesday night. The deal also witnessed the Washington Wizards acquire Cleveland Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, who was selected in the first round of 2010 draft pick and at the same time also received the rights to Emir Preldzic, last year’s second round draft pick from Cleveland.

While reacting to Antawn Jamison’s inclusion in the Cleveland Cavaliers, general manager of the team, Danny Ferry emphasized that the team was immensely excited to have received a player of such caliber and character. Moreover, it was also implied that the 33 year old player has the ability to combine a distinctive dimension to the team as well as has the capability to impact the entire court. However, according to certain reports, the Cleveland Cavaliers were part of trade talks for Amare Stoudemire with Phoenix, but at last went for the former Washington Wizards forward player.

Meanwhile, Antawn Jamison was not part of the Washington Wizards game against Minnesota, in which the Wizards registered a 108-99 win against the opponents on Wednesday. The player left the Verizon Center just prior to the game and also refused to divulge details about the trade when approached by reporters.

Antawn Jamison, who stands at 20.5 points this season, had been associated with the Washington Wizards since the year 2004. The player had also led his former team against the Cleveland Cavaliers during the first rounds of the 2007 playoffs. Moreover, Antawn Jamison had also signed a four year contract with Washington Wizards worth 50 million dollars in 2008.
