Chennai, Dec 21 (IANS) Team WSRF’s Gokul Krishna achieved a rare feat of winning all six races in the two rounds of JK Tyre Junior Cup Formula racing series here over the weekend Sunday.Having won all the three races in Saturday’s first round, 21-year old Gokul repeated the performance Sunday to take home full 66 points. He picked up 10 points apiece for each of the victory and also a further six for as many fastest laps to take a clear lead in the series.

The third and fourth rounds are scheduled for next weekend and the championship winner will be decided on the basis of 10 best results. The winner will also receive a scholarship drive in the 2009 JK Tyre National championship beginning in February.

Gokul, who hopes to pursue a career in racing, said: “I am extremely happy, but it was tough and close right through. I expect the races to be more competitive next weekend. I need to win at least four more races next weekend.”

Gokul, who caught the eye during this summer’s Beginners Cup series conducted by the Madras Motor Sports Club with outright wins and two second place finishes, attributed his success to the training he received at Akbar Ebrahim’s racing school earlier this year. “The course helped me a lot in learning about cornering, breaking, etc.,. It made a big difference this weekend.”

The results (all eight laps):
Race 1: 1. Gokul Krishna (10mins, 14:290secs); 2. K.Prashanth (10:21: 249); 3. Chetan (10:49:582). Race 2: 1. Gokul Krishna (10:06:664); 2. K.Prashanth (10:14:035); 3. Chetan (10:27:861). Race 3: 1. Gokul Krishna (10:10:697); 2. B. Paragjyothi (10:13:781); 3. Prashanth 10:14:877.
