Clarke hopes Watson gets fit by third ODI
October 25th, 2011 - 8:28 pm ICT by IANSSydney, Oct 25 (IANS) Shane Watson’s injury for the second time in two ODIs has sent shockwaves in the Australian camp as it prepares for the final ODI and the forthcoming Test series against South Africa.
The all-rounder collapsed with a back spasm in the middle of the fourth over before leaving the ground in discomfort during the second ODI that Australia lost in Porth Elizabeth.
Captain Michael Clarke was confident Watson would be fit for Friday’s limited-overs match as the series is levelled at 1-1.
“It was a very positive sign that he went back out and batted and I am very confident that he will be ready for Friday’s game,” Clarke said.
