bullsChicago, July 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Golden State Warrior’s C.J. Watson has been acquired by Chicago Bulls in a sign-and-trade transaction under which the Golden State Warriors will acquire a 2011 second-round pick. The news has been revealed to media sources by a league source who has confirmed the report and added that C.J. Watson will sign a two-year deal worth roughly $6.5 million with the Chicago Bulls. The deal with the Chicago Bulls comes with a non-guaranteed third season for C.J. Watson and leaves the team with roughly $4.5 million of salary-cap space. The Chicago Bulls are now looking forward to add a shooting guard and a center player to the team.

The addition of C.J. Watson leads no doubt to a depth in the backcourt area of the team as the player has come up with some impressive play last season. In his three-season career in NBA, which was preceded by stints in Development League and Europe, C.J. Watson has scored well as a combo guard. The 26-year-old player will act as a backup for the Chicago Bulls’ guard Derrick Rose.

C.J. Watson bears an average of 8.7 points in just 23.2 minutes and has a shot percent of 45.9 which includes 35.1 percent from the 3-pointer range. C.J. Watson had finished his last season with the Golden State Warrior team with an average of 10.3 points. He has 46.8 percent shooting, and 2.8 assists to his credit. Last season the player averaged 27.5 minutes and had started in 15 games. C.J. Watson is the sixth player from the last year’s Golden State Warrior’s team roster who has been traded off-season. Reports claim that, as per the deal the Golden State Warrior team will likely receive a trade exception that would amount to half of what C.J. Watson earns in his first season.
