Chris Wilcox On A Two Year Deal With The Pistons

According to the sources, the Detroit Pistons have reportedly agreed to sign a two year deal with free agent Chris Wilcox. The deal is said to be of $6 million dollars as per the sources say.
It is said that when Wilcox comes to Detroit, he will most probably battle with Kwame Brown for the starting center spot. It had been reported earlier that the Pistons were interested in restricted free agent Glen Davis but the likelihood of the Celtics matching any offer that the Pistons could muster apparently drove them off.
Chris Wilcox, the American professional basket ball player in the National Basket ball Association had previously played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Seattle Supersonics, Oklahoma City Thunder and New York Knicks. Wilcox was traded on February 14, 2006, to the Seattle Supersonics in exchange for Vladimir Radmanovic. On April 4, 2006, Wilcox recorded a career high 24 rebounds in a win over the Houston Rockets. Wilcox number of rebounds was the most by any Sonic player since Jack Sikma grabbed 25 in Utah in the year 1983. On February 2009, Wilcox was traded off to the New York Knicks for Malik Rose. Wilcox became a free-agent at the end of the season.
Before shifting their signing deal with Wilcox, the Pistons had earlier thought of drafting players like Drew Gooden and Rasho Nesterovic among others. But the athlete Wilcox is probably the most talented, low cost option as compared to others.
But the problem is Wilcox is facing the worst phase in his seven year old career - 7.2 points and 4.5 rebounds for the Thunders and the Knicks, thus showing a disastrous run of his for the past couple of years. Moreover, Wilcox is known for not being the best defender in the world.
