johnLas Vegas, September 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to the sources, boxer Chris John held his featherweight title in a bout against Rocky Juarez on Saturday night with an unanimous decision. The much anticipated bout that rolled to the 12th round witnessed both the boxers throwing punches at each other with John emerging as the victor at the end. The match marks John’s second bout against Juarez in a span of seven months.

Sources reveal that John (43-0-2, 22 KOs) was definitely swifter and faster than Juarez during the fight, which is a sort of a rematch between the two fighters, the first bout taking place in the month of February at Texas that ended with a seldom seen unanimous draw. Many had speculated back then that John should have been declared as the winner. Nevertheless, John took his revenge this Saturday as he outclassed Juarez during the 12th round. Sources say that Juarez literally staggered John with one minute left in the final round, but the latter reportedly held his feet in the ring to ensure that he emerges as the “final frontier”. “It was a very tough fight. In the last round I was really hurt. My eyes were swelling up but I kept on fighting like Arturo Gatti.”

The first scheduled rematch in June between John and Juarez was canceled due to John’s illness. The match between the two saw quite a few ups and downs with Juarez seemingly landed a serious bout of punches at his opponent during the last coarse of the match. But the timing was wrong as it was too late for Juarez to comeback in the match with John getting the upper hand at the end.
