chris-druryVancouver, British Columbia, Feb 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In what turned out to be an adrenaline rushing match, the hosts Canada suffered defeat at the hands of the United States in the Ice Hockey match at the Winter Olympics. Canada, who were billed as the favorites prior to the much coveted game against their arch rivals, were reportedly outdone by the power and grit of the US ice hockey team, as the former lost out on a score of 5-3. Although the Canadians made a blatant effort to comeback into the game, it was Chris Drury aka “The Muffin’ Man”, who ensured that the US seals off the game without any hiccups.

Chris Drury put up a scintillating performance as he guided his team to victory in Sunday’s match in the Group A qualifier. Brian Rafalski of US scored twice in the heart-pounding match as the Canadians fought back to score the equalizer. However, it was the goal of Chris Drury followed by Jamie Langenbrunner of US, which cleared the victory path for US. The well deserved victory against Canada now directly puts US into the quarter-finals of men’s ice hockey championship.

Chris Drury, whose goal came at the right moment for the US ice hockey team, proved his critics wrong. Questions were raised against the 33-year old player’s inclusion at the US ice-hockey team. Brian Burke, the US general manager defended the inclusion of Chris Drury as he explained that the player’s immense experience and his leadership qualities is what sets him apart. No wonder Chris Drury proved Brian Burke right as he now stands tall as a “hero” along with Brian Rafalski and Jamie Langenbrunner, after Sunday’s game.
