Chopda in round four of Maharashtra badminton

Mumbai, July 25 (IANS) State No.1 Sagar Chopda, representing Mumbai Suburban, romped into the men’s singles Round 4 of the second Maharashtra Senior State Selection Badminton Tournament here Wednesday.

Sagar took 20 minutes to defeat Mumbai Suburban’s Tejas Dhayalkar 21-8, 21-8. He will next meet Thane’s Shrishail Mitkari, who beat Nagpur’s Jayendra Dhole 21-11, 21-18.

In other matches, Mumbai Suburban’s Amey Joshi and Sanket Shirbhate also reached Round 4, along with Solapur’s Shripad Pardeshi.
