Mexico, July 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Guadalajara Chivas have won against one of the best football clubs in the world. The friendly match which was played at the Chivas Estadio stadium in Mexico ende 3-2 in favor of the Chivas boys. This in spite of the fact that Manchester United had its best team in place including world famous players like Ryan Giggs, Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney. It has been reported that the Guadalajara Chivas were so keen on playing the Manchester United boys that they actually postponed their league match against Morelia.
The Friday game was the inaugural match at the Chivas Estadio stadium and therefore the Guadalajara Chivas win is also being considered as the team’s gift to its country. The first goal of the match was scored by Mexico footballer Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez. It is to be recalled that Javier Hernandez had shifted base to Manchester United this year summer, but since the Friday game was an exhibition match, it featured the Mexican in his former team’s jersey for the first 45 minutes of play. The results show that it was definitely Javier Hernandez’s day, he being the first scorer of the Friday game.
While the first equalizer for the Friday match came just a minute later from ManU player Chris Smalling, the match gradually progressed in favor of the Guadalajara Chivas. The second goal on behalf of the Guadalajara Chivas was scored by Adolfo Bautista, the third following towards the end of play from Hector Reynoso. Though Manchester United Nani did try his best to match up to the Guadalajara Chivas score by netting the second goal for his team in the 80th minute of play, time ran out before ManU could shoot another equalizer.
